What began about 30 years ago as a construction company has evolved into a modern rebar bending shop. The Croatian company Pero Sternafer, based in Novigrad, Croatia, manufactures rebar cages and rebar mats for demanding infrastructure projects, relying on the BlueMesh rebar mat welding system and the MES software profityc from Progress Group.
The software profityc forms the core of Pero Sternafer’s digital production control system. All processes—from planning through manufacturing to delivery—are managed centrally.
Shortly after its implementation, processing and production times were significantly reduced. Projects can be broken down into individual manufacturing and delivery phases, allowing for better resource planning and more reliable adherence to deadlines.
Seamless Material Traceability as a key of Quality
A key benefit of profityc lies in its comprehensive digital material traceability. All materials are recorded upon receipt and tracked digitally throughout the entire production process. Using the barcoded labels generated by profit, each individual reinforcement element can be uniquely identified and assigned to its project.
This makes it possible to track at any time when and where an element was manufactured, which materials were used, and in which construction phase it is being used. For Pero Sternafer, this means not only greater transparency and quality assurance, but also significantly simpler documentation for customers, building owners, and project partners.
